Aisling Wheeler came to visit us on Monday 20th of September to talk to us about our third greenflag for water. We looked at conserving our water usage. We made a list of all the things we use water for such as cooking, washing and cleaning. We carried out an experiment on how much water we use to flush the toilet. We measured it by emptying the cistern of the toilet and holding the stop-cock so it wouldn't refill. Next we poured water from our measuring jug and recorded how much it took to fill up the cistern. It took 8.5 litres to fill the cistern. We decided we will use hippo-bags in our cistern, to reduce the amount of water we use.
After break we looked at the sea creatures we find on our shore line. We saw pictures of shellfish, fish, Carageen moss, Dilisk and seaweeds such as Bladder wrack and Egg wrack. We experimented with the web of life to see how each of the sea creatures are linked together.
