On the 1st of February 2011 we went to Turlough House. We left the school at around 10.00 a.m. We arrived at Turlough at 11.00 a.m. The workshop was called "Into the deep blue sea". Mary showed us around the museum, especially the old fishing equipment then she brought us into her classroom. She told us to take a seat. First she told us that music getting higher in Italian was "crescendo" and that music getting lower was "decrescendo". She played a game with us and we had to say our names from quiet to loud it was a lot of fun. She showed us some of her musical instruments and played some of them to us. Next she played her French Horn. Mary showed us her ocean drum and her rain drum. The ocean drum sounded like waves coming in on the shore. It sounded so relaxing, everybody was amazed and they all loved the sound it made. The rain drum just sounded like rain dropping onto the ground. We took lots of lovely pictures of the instruments. After a while we walked around the museum and took nice pictures of the things around the museum. We looked at the St Bridget's crosses. They were all very interesting. It was enjoyed by all, we loved it and we hope we come back sometime again.
