Archive > Our work

A limerick is a five lined poem. It has a special rhyming scheme. The first two line rhyme, the second two lines rhyme and the first line rhymes with the last line. This rhyming scheme is shown as A,A, B,B,A. Here are our Halloween limericks:

I met a fat cat,
He knew a scary bat,
He had a host of toast,
And sold it all for a toy ghost
But the bat got fat and ate the hat.

There was a white ghost,
Who ate a lot of toast,
He got too fat,
And they called him a rat,
So he made the most of being a ghost.

Halloweeen is the time of year,
Where vampires and ghosts appear,
The witch is on the broom with her cats,
Flying through the air with scary bats,
They are zombies around, but do not fear.

I went up the windy hill,
And the wind was really still,
I saw a big black witch,
She was sitting on the ditch,
And she was balancing with great skill.

Sixth Class.

The witch was wearing black,
she had a hump on her back,
She rode a broom,
That went zoom,
And she wore a black mack.

The ghost was eating toast,
With the jam he liked the most,
The cat was eating rats,
The witch was with her bats,
While eating the Sunday roast.

Once there was a witch,
Who flew into a ditch,
At home was her cat on the mat,
Who was very fat,
And didn't move a stitch.

Bats flew into the cats,
Witches fell into the ditches,
Spiders in gliders,
Vampires in campers,
Both the cat and bat are extremely fat.
