Green Flag 2

Archive > Events

Glenmore N.S received notification that it would be awarded its second Green-schools flag for energy this year.
On March 3rd, Paul Mc Donnell and Cormac Blehin travelled with Miss Carty to the awards ceremony to receive their Green-school flag.
The project consisted of the seven steps taken to reduce our energy consumption and raise awareness in school, at home and in the wider community of the importance of energy awareness.
This was achieved in several ways. We had Aoife O’ Toole visit our school and demonstrate the various ways we use energy and how we could conserve it.
We also had a visit from Brendan Killian from Mayo renewable energy. Brendan showed us how we can save energy in our homes. Glenmore N.S. would like to thank all who were involved in their Green-schools project, especially the children and their parents who took such an interest. Ceremony will be held at Glenmore N.S. May 17th 12.30 p.m. All are welcome!
