They speak Portuguese and their currency is the Real. There are rich people in Brazil but majority are poor. Brazil's main sport is soccer. Antonio showed us how to play some instruments from Brazil, the Berimbau, the Pandeiro and the Atabaqu. These instruments are used in Capoeira.

Capoeira

African in its origin, Brazilian in its evolution, Capoeira is a unique art form that blends acrobatics, martial arts, music, dance, percussion, singing and tradition in a single mesmerising game. Suitable for children of all ages, classroom capoeira is a series of one hour workshops for eight weeks which provides the children with a comprehensive, cross curricular way to exercise, develop a sense of music and rhythm and be exposed to the Brazilian culture while playing in a group and having fun.It was set up through dance because the slaves were not allowed to learn how to fight. It incorporates the native language Portuguese, the music they make from the Berimbau, Pandeiro and the Atabaque. The community spirit is a large part of capoeira. It teaches us dancing and gymnastics. Instructor: Graduado Antonio. Antonio Jose de Melo Neto has been training, studying and developing capoeira for over a decade and shares his expertise with us here n Glenmore N.S. Míle buíochas Antonio!
